Whale Watching Hauganes is extremely proud of being the oldest whale watching company in Iceland. They have been taking people out to see the whales in their natural habitat since the year 1993. Northern Iceland is globally recognized as the best location to experience whales in the world. The most common whale in the fjord are humpback whales, white beaked dolphins and minke whales.

Their classic oak boats have been renovated, are spacious, comfortable and extremely stable. As there are no generators on board, the engines can be turned off when approaching the whales making the approach as gentle and non-intrusive as possible.

At the black sandy beach in the small village Hauganes you will find hot tubs that use the geothermal water from the village. It is a truly magical way to relax and warm up on a cold winter day to dip into the hot water. The view out the fjord is fantastic, lay back, listen to the waves and the birds, enjoy it all in this fabulous relaxing experience. There are male and female changing facilities and a shower on location. For those brave enough it is possible to take a dip in the fjord before warming up again in the hot tub.

This tour includes a visit to Baccalá Bar and Restaurant. Inside the beautifully decorated restaurant, with its port decorated like a viking ship, you will enjoy a meal that has been locally sourced. This restaurant has become very popular among the locals in Eyjafjordur as well as travelers from all around the world.
