Cancellation policy

  • To confirm a booking, tour need to be fully paid. Once tour is paid for we hand out a confirmation e-mail and a binding contract between costumer and TTV is secured.
  • All prices are in Icelandic krona. Payment can be made with all major credit cards, or money transfer and then in any currency, such as in US dollars, UK pounds or Euros
  •  TTV cancellation policy: All cancellation
    have to come directly from the person who booked the tour. If the client cancel
    the tour up until 24 hours before the tour departure time, they get full refund.
    If the tour is cancelled with less then 24 hours until the tour departure,
    TTV hold back the total tour price.
  • Cruise ship passengers please note: If a cruise ship can not make it to the harbor in Akueyri due to weather conditions, then your daytour with TTV is fully refunded 
  • TTV reserve the right to make any changing of prices, facilities, service from how it is described in either the TTV website or brouchure, we reserve the right to cancel the tour if nessesary (road conditions, weather, minimum amount of passengers for the tour not fulfilled). TTV plan tours months ahead and therefore it is unlikely that we should need to change the tours. Costumers will be notified of any changes made as soon as possible. If the tour is cancelled by TTV itself, costumer recieves a full refund of all payment they made directly to TTV. However we do not pay any other personal expences, like fly tickets , bus tickets, travel insurance, visas, vaccations etc.
  • If a costumer need some special treatment or is affected by a medical condition, it should be mentioned at the booking of the tour.
  • TTV advise costumers to take out a comprehensive travel insurance against contingencies, including compensation for medical costs and cancellation fees. In the event of emergency medical rescue and/or repatriation from a tour by whatever means, the re- sponsibility of such costs will be borne by the costumer. TTV takes no responsibility for any luggage or personal equipments that belong to the costumer .
  • TTV can of course not be responsible for costumers whom during the tour decide to take some risk that the guide has pointed out to be dangerous.
  • Complaints about TTV tours shall handed in as soon as possible after or during the tour itself, so we can sort them out as soon as possible
  • TTV Privacy Policy, When you use our website, you trust us with your information. TTV is firmly committed to protect the privacy of our customers and visitors to our website. 
    TTV is therefor committed to protect the security of any information from clients that fill out our questionnaires. We do collect personal information when you register for a trip quote or otherwise voluntarily provide such information to provide a better user experience. We prevent unauthorised access, and we do not sell, rent, or loan our subscriber or customer lists to third parties for email marketing. All of those informations are then deleted after the tour itself. TTV will never send you email requesting your user name, password or any of your personal information. The personal identifiable information you provide to us for making a travel reservation is made available to the applicable hotel, airline or auto rental agency for the purpose of completing your reservation request.
  • The Traveling Viking, is an icelandic company, that acts in good faith and disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, sickness or schedule changes caused by weather or road conditions, force majure such as natural catastrophies, strikes or any irregularities beyond the control of TTV. The Traveling Viking cannot be held responsible for acts, defaults of, or delays caused by, any agent, guide, restaurant, hotel, coach operator, airline, or any persons or companies, however caused. In the case of any changes to flights (domestic and international), the passenger is responsible for any additional costs incurred as a result of such changes, (i.e. additional hotel nights, meals, transfers, etc.). All medical costs arising during tours must be paid by the client. Loss of or damage to luggage is at the client’s own risk.
  • Jurisdiction Clause: When you confirm the booking form you agree to accept all these booking conditions, and when we accept your booking we agree to carry out our obligations to you as defined in tour information provided to you. Both sides of this agreement are made subject to, and must be interpreted and enforced according to Icelandic law in a Icelandic court.
